Five star AFC Liverpool punish lacklustre REMYCA
Goals from Luke Stephens, Ant Lyons, Rhys Hardache and a double from Jesse Dowling saw AFC Liverpool compound more misery on Litherland REMYCA as they won 5-0 in an amazing way to start 2022 for the Reds.
AFC Liverpool enjoyed early spells of possession, and their pressure instantly payed off after thirteen minutes. Rhys Hardacre's ball into the area was smothered and then dropped by debutant keeper Ryan Jones, after signing for the 'REMY' from Bootle, a grateful Luke Stephens pounced on the error and he bundled his effort into the back of the net.
REMYCA broke and at their temporary home of the Berry Street Garage Stadium, they almost lit their account up with a wonder-strike through Karl Clair. From the perimeter of the D, his venomous effort cannoned off the top of the bar and this started their small reign with the ascendency. The veteran Jamie Hay was next up to try his luck on Jack McGovern, also signing from Bootle. Hay's header required tipping away, and McGovern done that superbly.
The never ending threat of the AFC attack never stopped for 'REMY' and even after being on the back foot for the majority of the game, they were able to come at the hosts and leave them star-stricken. Jesse Dowling started and finished an incisive move as it confirmed a second for the visitors. Hardacre was at the heart of the attack again, playing an inch-perfect ball through the spine of the 'REMY' backline to pick out the run of Dowling. The AFC Liverpool frontman raced through on Ryan Jones and placed neetly past him.

Despite the quality dropping in the second period, the visitors continued their onslaught and goals - securing an extra two. Any Lyons netted the fourth after cutting in from the edge of the area and smashing into the far corner.
The dangerous Dowling was on hand to round off the scoring. The AFC attacker left an outrushed Ryan Jones in his wake, rounding him and placing into an empty net.
Jones did have some fortune and twice, he splendidly denied a sixth via shots by James Howell and substitute Olly Sanderson. More efforts went squandered for the visitors and coming from another clinical front man, Kyle Schorah. His first he was sent through for a foot race and a tussle with Bobby Murphy. The AFC attacker won the battle but his shot never reflected his hard work to get in that position, flashing past the far post.
REMYCA never got going and remained at the foot of the North West Counties Premier Division, whereas AFC Liverpool moved a few points clear of the drop zone and moved up to a lofty 13th position.
FT: Litherland REMYCA 0-5 AFC Liverpool
