It was almost a calamity of a start for Wythenshawe with Max Leonard scuffing a clearence the wrong way, luckily for the ‘Wythy’ defender it flew wide of the post.
The visitors put that scare behind them and broke in their numbers. Aaron Dwyer squirmed his way into the box by beating a ‘REMY’ defender, but he was unable to beat Jack Reynolds, who rushed out to meet it, denying Dwyer from an acute angle.
From the resulting corner, a series of headers concluded when one sent on target was splendidly stopped by Reynolds, but Matty Bryan was there to finish from close range, giving Wythenshawe the lead.
REMYCA attempted to respond minutes later, with George Donnelly compelling effort from outside the area shattering the post and almost bouncing over the line. The away supporters could be forgiven for celebrating a little to prematurely as Matty Bryan thought he had chalked up his second of the night and Wythenshawe’s third inside 17 minutes, sliding to meet another cross from the left, however he was adjudged to be in an offside position.
The slow start to the game for the ‘REMY’ regrouped the hosts and themselves calved out numerous openings. Liam Loughlin volley fizzing scarcely over the top. Their next effort saw REMYCA half the deficit, with James Murphy lobbed effort sailing above Elliot Wynne and into the back of the net.
The visitors looked to extend their lead and chances came and went for them before the break. Aaron Dwyer’s effort forcing Jack Reynolds into a stop, with the ‘REMY’ keeper equal to Dwyer’s shot. James Dwyer header tried his luck with a header diverted goalwards, but unfortunately for Dwyer, his effort was straight down the throat of Reynolds.
‘REMY’ were unlucky not to go into half-time on level terms, with James Murphy’s free-kick looked to be heading for the opposite corner in which he took the free-kick, but Elliot Wynne was able to get over in time to restrain the equaliser.

The spell of pressure blew away from Wynthenshawe, with REMYCA enjoying a spell of dominance and a series of chances that could have brought them level. James Hammill’s free-kick bringing Elliot Wynne into life, with the Wythenshawe keeper stretching to keep out the effort. Hammill again testing Wynne with a flicked header by the ‘REMY’ man landing straight down the throat of Wynne.
After the ‘REMY’s’ spell of pressure, the away side made it three and regained their two goal advantage after a moment of magic. Steven Hewitt dazzling effort burrowed into the top comer.
