The Inclusive Hub are an award-winning CIC run by Gerard Starkey and his son Liam with an aim to help people with different abilities from Autism, ADHD, Wheelchair Users through Boxing, Fitness and Community Initiatives.

I interviewed Liam a couple of weeks ago on my podcast and he said “The Inclusive Hub was started from a boxing gym in Kirkdale originally and it was to give children with Autism a chance through boxing training and it’s grown considerably from that”.

Since starting in 2016, The Inclusive Hub have grown in strength and now even offer food parcels to those in need

Liam said “At the time due to COVID, people couldn’t leave their properties so working with Kev Short at Regenda, we came up with the idea of helping people by putting food parcels, educational equipment, charity needs together because people couldn’t go out the house so it wasn’t something that we were doing as a leisurely thing, it was paramount in the area”.

This just shows how special they are. And just as you think it couldn’t get better, On the 12th December from 10am-2pm, they organised a fundraising day to help keep the place going.

There was lots of thing on for the kids. A local band came down to play some songs, DJ Lee Butler came down and played music for everyone whilst they were skipping, lots of food and cakes for everyone to enjoy.

This is an amazing photo. To see the smile on this young lads face and on everyone face, to see them enjoy themselves is what makes these kind of days and organisation a happy place. It was nice to see so many different faces that came down to support the amazing work that The Inclusive Hub is doing in what is known as a deprived area in Liverpool is inspirational and it shows what the amazing work these people do and not only for me but for everyone in the community. It shows a sense of belonging in the community. The people who organised it and everyone involved show so much support and help out so much and long may it continue.
