Frustrated 'REMY' thwarted by stubborn 'Ravens'
Litherland REMYCA were left scrathing their heads after an abundance of chances missed by the home side compiled withtwo Isle of Man goals meaning the ‘REMY’ have been beaten in their two opening league games.
A few half chances for both sides in the opening quarter of an hour not materialising into a opening.
Isle of Man were the first to have an effort on target in the game. McDonnell sprinting onto a bal through by the ‘Ravens’ midfield, but his effort was met by Ryan Jones to deny the Isle of Man forward from giving his side the lead.
From that, the ‘REMY’ broke forward, with Johnny Foy’s deflected effort sailing into the back of the net to give the hosts the upperhand and were duly rewarded for a promising start.
Remyca were only in front for five minutes before Isle of Man levelled. A ball across the box was pounced upon by Whitley who slots home the ‘Ravens’ equaliser.
Litherland REMYCA reacted to the equaliser by having a handful of opportunities to recoup the upperhand. Jamie McDonald the first to test Kearns in the Isle of Man goal, the ‘REMY’ man’s low shorts rebounding off the ‘Ravens’ keeper, before George Lomax being denied by an outrushing Kearns.

‘REMY’ came out flying in the second half and had an amazing chance to regain their lead right at the start of the second period. Luke Denson ran at the Isle of Man defence before hitting a sizzling strike which cannoned of the woodwork.
But it was the away side who struck to take the lead for the first time. A scuffed clearance from the Litherland REMYCA backline landed kindly to Jack Carmada at the edge of the area, who powers home past Ryan Jones.
From that the ‘REMY’ began a huge period of dominating. A few half chances either blocked or diverted behind for a corner, however Kieran Halligan’s header one to warn Kearns, but the header was sent wide of the post.
Halligan again almost on target with a header, this time round a ‘Ravens’ defender was on the goal-line to nod it back out.
The Isle of Man almost chalked up a two goal advantage when latching onto a scuppered clearance by Kieran Halligan, Jack McVey wins the looping ball in the air, but the header diverted goalwards is caught by Ryan Jones.
The ‘REMY’ resumes their persistent opportunities at goal. From another set piece, Jamie Hay’s header whistled past the post.
Substitute Lee Hughes calved out an opportunity in the closing stages, thrashing a daring effort sailing over the bar.
